How Tom grew his business

How Tom grew his business

Earlier this week, I had one of my mastermind members – Tom Miller – fly in for a vision retreat.

We spent some time looking at the systems he has implemented over the years, and how they have grown his business. And then we spent some time masterminding into the future…

Looking back at the work we’ve done together over the past few years, it’s incredible to see how far Tom has come as a result of growing himself personally and applying himself professionally.

The transformation that’s taken place in Tom and in his business has been monumental, and today I want to celebrate it.

You see, it all started with our first coaching call about 4 years ago…

Tom was trying to get on track with his business and figure out where it would be in 2-3 years. He had a goal to grow his business from 6-figures to 7-figures.

He asked me who he needed to be as a business owner to achieve those goals…

And some of the first questions I asked him related to his numbers…

I remember asking him if he knew what his customer acquisition costs were, or what his accounts receivable number were, and he didn’t.

He wasn’t following a system for generating sales on his top programs…

He wasn’t following a system to track how much time he and his team were spending on projects…. Things were a bit disorganized and tracking needed to be done in order to maximize time and monetize the business.

And so Tom decided he was ready to make the changes necessary in himself and in his business to see it thrive.

And today, I would like to congratulate Tom for the effort he has put into growing himself and his business. I have to say, the results speak for themselves.

Tom has now expanded his business and earned 7 figures in sales, paid off all his debt, and grown in his awareness –  all because he took the time to grow himself personally and apply himself professionally, implementing the types of systems that needed to be in place; building a sales team; setting up a marketing plan, and so much more.…

Tom trusted my guidance and made no excuses when it came to why he “couldn’t.” Instead, he pushed through, even when times were tough.

He has surely come a long way. But to do so, he had to recognize the fact that his business could only grow to the level that he was willing to grow.

He understood that if he didn’t grow personally, he would put a lid on his business.

So he applied himself and cultivated discipline. He did what he needed to do to grow his business and to grow himself as a person.

And he did it even when he didn’t feel like doing it.

There aren’t many people who are willing to apply themselves the way Tom has. And for that, I want to commend him and celebrate his success.

I’ve had several 3-hour coaching sessions with people over the years. And a number of them get off the call but aren’t willing to put in the work to get the results they want.

But when you do put in the work, you get the results you desire. And that’s exactly what has happened with Tom.

One of the most rewarding things about working with people through their journeys of growth is when they have success and achievement – when they win.

Tom is one of those people who didn’t give up, even when things got tough. And now it’s brought him to where he is today.

Tom, if you’re reading this, I want to thank you for the note of gratitude you posted on your Facebook page the other day, thanking me for my guidance and celebrating your wins! I’d like to share it with everyone.

Where do visions come from?

Where do visions come from?

Have you ever had a clear vision of something you desired to bring forward?

Most of us have.

You’ll often hear me use the phrase “hold your image” because I believe there is so much power in holding an image as you bring it forward in your life.

A lot of people will ask me how to bring a vision into physical form. So today I want to share the answer to that question.

And then I want to share a few things that you should be doing once you’ve formed a vision.

First of all, you might be wondering: where do visions come from in the first place?

Well, they always start in the spiritual realm, in the mind of God.

They go from the infinite mind of God into the finite mind of man. It’s transferred from the spiritual realm into the intellectual realm.

In other words, it’s transferred into your mind as an idea.

Think of how powerful that is. There are 7 billion people on this planet and God decided to plant that idea into your mind.

And that idea’s natural lawful form of expression is to be manifest into the physical form. That idea wants to be expressed in and through you!

It’s during this time that you become aware you want to be, do, and have more.

And this is exactly how we are designed to work. To live a life of fuller expression and fuller expansion. To co-create with God.

That’s how visions come to be. And our natural expression as creative beings is to express our vision and to bring it into physical form.

So, you might be wondering…

Once the vision has been transferred from the spiritual realm into the intellectual realm, how can we manifest it into physical form?

That’s a question I get asked a lot…

The first step is simple: you need to write it down. That’s the first physical expression.

…The first step necessary to transfer it from the intellectual realm into the physical realm.

You see, when you write out a vision, you are birthing it. And when you resist writing it down, you’re blocking its ability to be expressed.

When you’re resistant to writing your vision down:

1- You are no longer in flow with the law of perpetual transmutation of energy.

We know that this law flows energy from a higher source into a lower source. (In this case, from the mind of God into your mind, and then into physical form.)

2- You’re resisting doing what you can do.

You are fully resourced to bring this idea forward. You might tell someone you’ll do anything to bring it forward. Well, have you written it down?

3- You’re resisting God.

There are 7 billion people on this planet and God decided to plant that idea into your mind. What are you going to do with it?

Now the question is, how do you take it a step further and convert that image of what you want into a movie?

When it comes to having a healthy and growing vision, you want to make sure it’s evolving.

And images are just snapshots that cover a brief moment in time. But a vision should be evolving, moving forward, and expanding, like a movie.

So let me ask you this: when was the last time you checked in with your vision? Are there any changes that need to be made to it? Do you have a better idea of what it is you want now when compared to a few months ago?

I encourage you to take some time today to think over these ideas and to empower yourself to bring forward your vision.

Here's how to stop going from guest to pest

Here's how to stop going from guest to pest

Earlier this week, I was on a call with one of my private clients who shared an obstacle they were facing...

They were getting hung up on this feeling of not wanting to follow through with someone simply because they didn't want the prospect to think they were being a bother.

They had already built considerable rapport with the prospect, but they were scared of going from guest to pest.

Have you ever felt this way?

Perhaps you were on a sales call with a prospect and they told you they needed some time to think things over, and then they never got back to you...

Well, did you call them back? Or did you decide not to call them back because you felt like you were being pushy?

A lot of us experience this feeling because, as human beings, we don't like to be forced into anything. And we certainly don't want to be the ones forcing something upon someone else...

But the truth is, by following up with someone, you're not forcing them into anything.

Instead, you're reminding them of an important decision they need to make.

Not only that, you’re also providing them with the information they need in order to make an informed decision. And you’re helping them walk through that decision-making process.

What if we stopped lying to ourselves about this idea that every time we follow up with someone, we're being a bother or a nag?

Instead, what if we started to reframe follow-ups like this...

If you’re selling a product you truly believe in and your prospect says “let me think about it,” but you DON’T follow up with them, aren’t you doing them a disservice by not helping them think into this decision?

Truly the most integrous thing you can do is provide someone with a solution to their problem.

So if you know they have a problem and your product can fix it, why wouldn’t you check back in with them and help them become more certain?

If you're in sales, you know that this is what it's all about: helping people make a decision that is right for them - whether that means signing up for your program or not!

Now, I get it. I’ve been in sales for most of my life, so I know exactly what people mean when they say they’re afraid of being pushy, because they can go from guest to pest pretty fast if they approach it wrong.

So allow me to share something that I’ve found to be helpful:

Next time you have a prospect who tells you they need some time to think things through before they get back to you with a decision, start brainstorming…

What’s something you can do between now and then that can help them solidify their decision?

Think about it.

In order to help them cross that bridge to making a decision, specifically to say yes to join your program or to buy your product –  you need to build their certainty.

So, how can you give them a sneak peek into what they’d be getting if they said yes?

Is there a resource you can share with them?

Could you send them a screenshot of one of your best teachings and expand a little bit on it?

Ask yourself what you can do to advance your agenda.

If you follow through without the intention of advancing your agenda, you’re likely going to go from guest to pest.

You see, if you were to send them an email saying something like, “Hey Jim, I know you’re taking some time to make a decision, and as you do, I wanted to send you this free resource. This is just a piece of what we’d be going through if you join my program. I wanted to share how powerful it is.”

Here’s what you’re doing when you’re sending Jim this resource: you’re sowing seeds.

Jim is becoming more familiar with your product and with the value you have to offer. And if you do it right, he’ll most likely become more certain and be more likely to say yes when he does make his decision.

You see, you’re not making his decision for him.

Instead, you’re providing him with a preview of what he’s going to get when he does say yes.

You’re sowing seeds and making him more certain.

Like I said before, it’s one of the most integrous things you can do.

I encourage you to try this method and let me know how it works for you!
